Introduction to Medicare Advantage Plan

Medicare Advantage Plans, also known as Part C, are a type of health insurance offered by private companies that contract with Medicare.

These plans combine Part A and Part B, which cover hospital and medical insurance, respectively, and sometimes Part D, which covers prescription drugs. You can receive all your Medicare benefits through a Medicare Advantage Plan, although you may pay different costs for services than you would with Original Medicare.

There are several types of Medicare Advantage Plans, including Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) Plans, Special Needs Plans (SNPs), and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

Each type of plan has its own rules about how you get services, how much you pay for services, and whether or not you can see out-of-network providers.

Before enrolling in a Medicare Advantage insurance, it’s important to understand how the plan works and what is covered. This guide will provide an overview of each type of Medicare Advantage Plan so that you can make an informed decision about which plan is right for you.
